First Friday Volunteering Hits Two Year Mark

February marks the two year anniversary of WoodmenLife associates volunteering at the Open Door Mission.

The Open Door Mission provided more than 835,900 hot meals in 2015 and WoodmenLife continues to be a part of the effort. Associates who sign up to volunteer serve food to people in need.

In February 2015, WoodmenLife set out to make an impact of their own. On the first Friday of every month, Home Office associates can sign up to volunteer over lunch at the Open Door Mission.

“With our National Community Focus being to fight hunger, it only made sense to work with the Open Door Mission,” said WoodmenLife Director of Customer Service & Claims Deanne Adams. “Our associates are making a huge difference in the lives of so many men, women and children.”

In 2015, it was estimated that 43.1 million people were in poverty, according Feeding America. With a long history of giving back, WoodmenLife knew that it was time to get involved.

Every month is new opportunity to join the fight against hunger. Learn more about the Open Door Mission at http://www.opendoormission.org/
