Let the hatching begin!

Sometime during the night one of the eyas (chicks) hatched. He’s a little
awkward and needs help staying upright, but Hera manages to nudge him
under her wing. You can also see a piece of the shell in the box. We
should see another one hatch soon.

    I saw the hatching. It happened last night between 7 pm and 7:30 pm Central time. I was excited and a little nervous for the chick.

    Yes the egg hatched yesterday .. was watching most of the day Hera was not leaving the nest even when Zeas tried to get in.. I have raised alot of birds and love the time of hatching.. it is wonderful that there is new life..
